Dear, Clarisse. Count Me In

In all honesty Beckendorf scared me, he could be all sweet and teddy bearish one moment and then just a plain old bear the next. He could also be, like Chris, a total pervert. I didn't have a problem with Chris joking about his 'man-hood' or the fact that I know he fantasizes about me, but with Beckendorf it was different, because he was Silena's boyfriend, so I found it weird when I started pestering him about how manly he was. The conversation started with me patronizing Becks to wits end, like usual. Beckendorf glared at me, "You're having fun with this aren't you?"

"Are you kidding?" I said loudly, "The last time I had this much fun I was nine and was shooting a bird with whatever artillery I could find and/or ask dad for."

He stared at me like I was some demonic form who had just stabbed him with a knife, finally he said, "Shouldn't you be torturing someone else?"

I raised an eyebrow it was the off season for Camp Half-Blood, the summer had just ended and most of the others were at home with their parents, "Like who?"

"Oh I don't know... Chris?" He words were like venom in my blood, they burned in my ears and made me want to shatter his jaw bone into a million little fragments.

I held in my anger though, despite how much it pained me, and merely glared at him. Gods how weak that looked, "Can we please drop the subject of, Chris?"

He glared right back at me as if to mock me, Beckendorf was a child, "What's the matter?"

I laid down on the bench and folded my arms behind my head, lounging around as if him prying into my personal life wasn't getting to me, Silena probably hired him to get me to talk about my 'true feelings for Chris.' I closed my eyes, "You don't really want me to go into a whole girly rant, Becks, it's not pretty... So drop it."

Beckendorf made a somewhat disgusted face and said something that was truly shocking, "Oh trust me, I don't. I really don't listen to you anyways."

"Yea, it's best for you to keep whatever manliness you have left," I grinned, "If you have any left..."

Charlie glared at me again, this time it wasn't to mock me, he was seriously pissed. You found the bulls eye, Clarisse, good job. "I do have 'manliness,' thank you very much."

I sat up again and leaned in closer so that we were eye to eye, it was odd that Becks was a foot taller then me, I wasn't used to that, I was the tallest kid in my cabin and if it wasn't for Beckendorf and Chris, that tallest in the whole camp. "Nah, I'm pretty sure that flew out the window the minute you and Silena got together..."

Then it got awkward Beckendorf got this goofy grin on his face and tugged on his braids before saying, "I'm very tempted to say do you want to see 'lisse."

I jumped off the bench and glared at him my face growing warm, was I blushing? Fuck you, Beckendorf. "Ew. Gods no. Never mind!"

He snickered and tugged me back down onto the bench, "I thought so."

He wasn't going to get me that easy, Beckendorf only thought he was tough, he couldn't walk the walk what-so-ever, and he was not going to get the better of me, "Besides I'd need an Athena nerds microscope to see it."

The famous Beckendorf glare returned, "Whats that suppose to mean?"

"Morale of the story: Char-Char Binks, is manly but Chris Rodriguez has him beat." I snorted and punched his shoulder, not bothering to hit lightly or anything, I just punched him like I'd punch a pro wrestler's bicep.

He winced and began rubbing his shoulder, "In your dreams 'lisse..."
